Hello Wedding Watchers! It has been a REALLY long time since my last blog! I am happy to report that I have been busy with weddings, showers and everything in between, so YAY! It feels good to be back.
Take a look into the future with me. It’s always great to be a bit ahead of the game, start new trends etc. Now you all know that I am a traditional girl at heart when it comes to weddings, but I also love what is new, current or on the rise. I’m always so excited to see what the next years bride wants to bring to her wedding! Some things that should definitely stick around are lace, reading vows and waiting to see the bride walk down the aisle. Disagree if you’d like. 🙂
Let’s chat about 15 things that will fade to gray (not black, we don’t want to eliminate all these things), for 2019:
7. Bridesmaid dresses. In 2019, we’re going to see more and more bridesmaids (and brides) in jumpsuits! This is trendy, sexy and a lot easier to dance in.
8. Big bridal parties. An intimate experience is on the rise. These super large bridal parties are going quick. Eliminate the bridesmaid drama and keep it more personal. Having just your siblings or best friend is just enough.
9. Seasonal florals: I think we’ll move away from this cliché. Brides might just want to make their fall florals “pop” with turquoise.
10. Short engagements. Two even three year engagements allow couples to save the money that they’ll need for their big day. That’s always a plus.
11. Basic videography. Now don’t look at the word “basic” and associate it with something negative. Drones are something we will see more of in our future weddings. They give the ability to capture a wedding from a different perspective and the finished product is swoon worthy.
12. Allowing guests to take pictures with their phones. Unplugged wedding ceremonies will definitely increase in popularity. Guests will be more attentive and interact more at the ceremony.
13. Tiaras. I know. Some may disagree. Special day, you feel like royalty… I get it. Creative ways to use florals and jeweled pieces on a bride is here to stay.
14. Same tuxedo. If bridesmaids can mix and match their dresses, why can’t the groom and his groomsmen mix their attire? Tastefully mixing men’s attire is a win!
15. Paper place cards/escort cards. Unique place cards have certainly made its way into the wedding world in 2018, but I have feeling that in 2019, we will see more and more creative ideas and less of the boring cards.
So there we have it! It’s going to be exciting to see what our 2019 brides bring to the table. Creativity, elegance, color, … a rustic chic vibe; you never know! Trends that may last… some that may not, but either way would be really nice to see! As they say, out with the old and in with the new!
Until next time Wedding Watchers!
